who we are
About Us
Level A is a pipeline isolation company based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, serving the municipal and mechanical industries. We specialize in making repairs, connections, and modifications on live, pressurized lines, so you never have to drain a system or shut down service to move a project forward. Municipal and mechanical teams across a wide stretch of the Gulf South—from Lake Charles and Central and Northern Louisiana to Biloxi and Gulfport, MS, Coastal Alabama, and Southern Arkansas—count on us as pipeline isolation contractors who bring precision and safety to every job.
When you’re weighing who to trust with a live pipeline, you want a team that knows exactly how to isolate flow without incident. That’s the work we do every day.
Our Background and Areas of Expertise
Level A proudly serves customers throughout the municipal and mechanical sectors. Over the years, we’ve built our reputation on one core promise: keep your system in service while we complete pressure-critical work. That focus has made us a dependable partner for water utilities, central plants, and industrial facilities alike.
Our crews perform installations on a wide range of pipe materials, including:
- PCCP
- Ductile iron
- Cast iron
- Asbestos cement (AC)
- Copper
- PVC
- Steel
- HDPE
We handle water, sewer, chilled water, hot water, and steam applications, giving your team a single resource for a variety of demanding jobs. As experienced hot tap technicians, we’ve completed connections and isolations across systems of many sizes and pressures, and we plan each step to match your facility’s specifications.
Our Approach to Safety
Isolating a live line leaves no room for error. That’s why we treat safety as the foundation of everything we do, not an afterthought. Before a single cut, our crews study the line, the pressure, the material, and the surrounding conditions. We plan the work carefully, then execute it with the discipline pressure-critical projects demand.
As pipeline isolation specialists, we understand the stakes: a mistake on a pressurized water main, steam header, or chilled water loop can put people, property, and schedules at risk. Our methodical process protects your system and the community that depends on it. You get the confidence that comes from working with a team that respects the pressure it works under.
The Range of Services We Offer
We bring a full toolkit of pipeline intervention methods to each project. Whatever your system requires, we have a proven approach to keep it running while the work gets done.
-
Line Stops (1.5"–42")
Line stops temporarily halt flow in water and sewer lines, so your crews can make downstream modifications without depressurizing the main. This lets you replace valves, tie in new equipment, or complete repairs while the rest of the system stays pressurized.
-
Hot and Wet Taps (3/4"–48")
Hot and wet taps let you create a new connection on a pressurized line without shutting it down. From small service connections to large branch tie-ins, we add the connection you need while flow continues uninterrupted.
-
Insertion Valves (4"–24")
Insertion valves are permanent valves we install on existing lines without shutting down the main. We install both Hydra-Stop Insta-Valves®, giving your system reliable, permanent control points for future maintenance. These valves let your crews isolate sections that were previously difficult to shut down.
-
Pipe Freezing
Pipe freezing isolates a section of line by forming a solid plug inside the pipe. This method lets your team weld in valves, make repairs, or modify equipment without draining or shutting the system down, which is ideal for chilled water and other critical loops.
